Living in the beautiful countryside of the Western North Carolina Mountains is a dream comes true for Jon and his wife, Carolyn. Since they both were raised in the country, their appreciation for things of old shows in how Jon captures structures in his works. The old barns and outbuilding are disappearing fast from the countryside scenes as we have once known and Jon captures something from times gone bye in his oil paintings.
The painting below is of the Ramsey House on Burningtown Road, Franklin, North Carolina. The Ramsey family commissioned Jon to capture their homestead of many memories on canvas. Jon is pictured painting another house on Burningtown Road which is now abandoned and the scrubs are over grown. However; several families have memories of living there years ago.
Jon will come to your home to do a painting of your upon request. However; if coming to your home isn't possible, he will work from a good quality photograph with lights and shadows.
